After shooting are scenes that we need we will edit the scenes to put together the short production. We may use a block of flats which have low key lighting to add more effect and also use key camera techniques to add more effect and give the production more of an urban feel to the scenes.

Existing product research

-The clip above is a one minute sequence from an E4 program called "Youngers". This program is aimed at people between the ages of 15-35 years old because the protagonist and there friends are young adults. This program further appeals to the age range of 15-35 because "Youngers" is set in an urban environment as the audience can relate to the program as they live is similar environments such as block of flats or a area full of gun and knife crime.

- In the opening sequence there is a variety of mise en scene used through out. One of the essential Mise en scene used is Costumes because costume the characters wear enables the audience to be identify who the characters are.The characters in the opening scene are wearing hoodies, track suit and trainers which is normally associated with young adults hiding something or about to commit a crime.

-The lighting used in this clip is mainly is natural light as the scene appears at day time. This is different to what we associate with a teenage based movie containing hoodies because we would expect it to be at night and  them acting suspension or committing a crime.

- There are different shot angles throughout the short sequence. There are close up angle shots that shows the facial expression that the characters are going through this enables the audience identify who is in what mood. Four characters have a facial expression of happiness and joy which you would associate with teenagers but however, One of the characters close up on his face shows that he not happy about and disagrees with the other and has responsibility which you wouldn't associate with teenagers.there were establishing shot, reverse shot reverse and point of view shot. There is an low angle shot where the camera is looking up at the characters which connotes that they have power and authority.

- In the short clip there is minimal make up as it isn't really need. The clip is shot around an urban environment so make up is thought badly upon. More over there were props used in the clip such as the wall three characters are sitting on. This is associated with young adults as they are just sitting on the wall being lazy, doing nothing and having not responsibilities.

- The sound mainly used in this clip is diegetic sound as dialogue is being used for characters to communicate with each other. The dialogue used is consistent with the vacab of young adults as they mainly use slang and shorten English. The audience can relate to this as they can understand it as they speak slang on a daily. The editing used in the sequence is important as it helps the audience understand the sequence. There is mainly just straight cut editing allowing the audience to understand the storyline.

- The clip above is a movie called "Adult Hood" which follows a story of a through his young adult life which contains criminal activities and slang. This show is movie was shown on BB3 and its target audience is young adults between the ages between 15-35. This appeals to the young adults as most of them can relate or want this sort of gangster lifestyle.

- The costumes used is mostly urban clothing such as hoodies and track suit which you would associate with suspicious adults wanting to over there identity and about to committed. Moreover outfits connote that the characters are poor and unintelligent as people associate successful and intelligent people in suits or smart clothing.

- The lighting is important as in the opening scene of the clip there are people fighting so there top key lighting which lets the audience see what going on. Lighting helps the audience identify who is the good and the bad guy however in the first few scenes there's an enigma code as the audience don't know who the protagonist or the binaurally opposition is .

- The cinematography is used to shook and exist the audience. There is an low angel shot shows around 00:27 of the young black male which connotes that the character has authority and power. Furthermore, there is a low angle shot of a girl crying this enables the audience to see the emotion she is going through. also the low angle shot may connote that she also powerful and is thought highly of and that she wants revenge on whoever hurt her friend.

-The most notable prop used in the opening sequence is the ambulance which is like a typical poor urban area and connotes that there's a lot of gun and knife crime in the area. Another of the the props used is a gun which connotes that they are gangsters and are up to no good as shown when two teenagers tried to rob a man in the car because he was looking at them funny.

- There are different sounds used through out the opening sequence. There is dialogue that characters are communicating which is diegetic sounds as coming from characters. There is also diegetic sound coming from cars on the motorway and also there diegetic sound coming from people walking on gravel. There is also non-diegetic sound of music which gets fast and fast connoting that something existing is about to happen. The fast paced musics infers that young adults live there life at a fast and reckless pace. Non-diegetic music is significant as that the type of hip hop and rap that young adults mostly lesson to so would appeal to most tanagers.

- The editing was significant as when characters were at the night club there were quick scene which connotes how fast and reckless young adults live their life. The theory that we could apply to Adulthood is the Perkin theory. Most of the stereotypes in this movie are true. The big Black six former has everyone on 'lock' and everyone is scared of him. The blonde year 11 is a prostitute and does drugs. 16 year old black female is pregnant. The big white female- everyone is scared off him, even Noel Clarke is afraid of this man. The Black males in that movie do drugs.
-Top boy is a UK based program following the lives of different characters throughout the episodes. This program is amid at people between the ages of 15-35 years old and is broad casted on channel 4 after the pre water shed at 10 pm.
- In this short sequence there are teenagers standing blocking the stair walkway. The teenagers are “spitting bars” formally known as rapping. The costume used in the sequence is modern day hoodies, jackets and track suit which is associated with trouble makers. The outfit the teenagers wear make them look suspicious while the older adults are wearing more like casual clothing making them look normal and not suspicious.
- There is minimal lighting as there is only natural lighting which is significant as the weather is gloomy connoting that the area is deprived and poor. Moreover, there is no make-up because it I need and also as it is a reality show its trying to make the program as real as possible so wouldn't need make up.
-  There is a low angle looking at the older adult showing that they run the show and have power and authority over the teenagers. However, there also a low angle shot of the teacher “spitting bars” showing that they still have authority and power as are blocking the patch way so causing other people who are not know to take a different route. There is an also medium close up shot which shows the characters together. There were also point of view shot and establishing shot.

- The sound used in the short clip is diegetic sound such as the dialogue the characters use to communicate. Other sounds are sounds from the area such as cars.

The establishing shot is The teacher coming out of his dad's car, we can straight away tell that this teachers is very is not responsible. Then we see him puking into the school sink- again we learn that he is not responsible. The props we see we know that he is a teacher and works in the school. We see him holding a bag and we see him holding test papers. The editing is quite clever as they are quick shots and in every shot we see him doing something irresponsible. With the sound we can tell its in a school environment as we can hear high amounts of chatter between students and teachers. The camera work is quite clever as we can see the teachers reactions and we can see what he is doing- the camera is zoomed into his face, still we can see him doing something. This is very similar to Some girls as it comes on after the 9 o'clock watershed- comes on a 10 o'clock, teenagers are usually up at this time and have nothing to do, so they will put on some TV and watch some comedy. The target audience are teenagers and teachers from 15- 35. Teenagers can relate to the students and the teachers can relate to the teachers in bad education. But there is a twist to this as the teachers of the class is very much like a student which is very interesting- we don't really see things like relationships with students is like friends. This is very clever from BBC as its very unique- this could be the shows USP.  he lighting is just normal day light as its a school. In corridors there is light bulbs when its dark- but when its light out side there is no extra light. With bad education we can apply the mulvey theory as the characters are admired. Jack Whitehall can come under the female gaze and the male gaze. Females admire jack Whitehall and Matthew Horne. Homosexual men admire Jack Whitehall, as Jack Whitehall acts slightly weird in the media- in the spotlight. Also in the class there is a homosexual student.

-The short clip is from a BBC 3 program aimed at people between the ages 15-35. The program is about following a group of girls through there school and social life. Teenagers and young adults can relate as the program is mostly based on the events in school.

- In the sequence there is a group of girls coming out onto a pitch and are about to play football. This is an alternate representation of teenage girls as the dominate representation would be them going shopping or gossip about boys. This dominate representation is further as even then there warming up they were gossiping and making fun of each other. The older female has a significant height difference connoting that she has power and authority and also her dialogue shows that she has power as she says "C'mon ladies lets get warmed up". The girls begin to do to do physical exercise like pressure which is not associated with especially teenagers. The clothing is baggy, lose, plain which is alternate representation as we imagine that young teenagers like be fashion trenders to have the latest fashion designs.

- There is diegetic and non-diegetic sounds in the clip. The diegetic sound is when the group of girls and the coach are communicating. This appeals to audience as they can relate as they are speaking in English that they can understand and are comfortable around. The non-diegetic sound is the parallel music in the clip.

- There is a number of theories that some girls links to. one of them is perkins theories that some stereotypes are true and positive for example the blonde girl is the less intelligent one and gets into bad situations. The Asian one is the one that stands out and weird. however the black girl is responsible which is not a dominate representation of young black girls.

Equipment required
-One DSLR Camera – My group need the DSLR Camera to shoot the shots we need for our media production “Jumped”
-my group also need the lighting equipment so we can have different lighting to portray characters in our production for example if we wanted to make a character scary and intimidating we could use low key lighting.
-We also need a voice recorded so we could record dialogue clearly so the audience can understand what is being said
-After shooting the shots we need we would need to use the computer to editing our shots.

Analysis of a still image

Analysis of The Bane

- The character from the still image is the Bane from the batman movie called "Dark knight rises" and the character is portrayed as the villain of the movie. One of the costume that the Bane wears is a mask covering his mouth. This creates an Enigma code for the audience as they would be wondering why he has a mask. Another costume that the Ban has is a military vest with his hand crossed holding on to the strips. This makes it look as if the character is bitting his time and waiting for something to happen. Moreover, the military vest shows that the Bane is powerful and has authority.

- The lighting in the still image in essential as it is one of the key things that tell us that The Bane is the villain. For example The black background infers that the Bane has a dark and dangerous past that he doesn't want to reveal. The top key lighting gives the Bane a god like figure showing that he has power over people and people fear him. Furthermore, the top key lighting further shows the Banes power as the light defines his muscles.

- The low angle shot in the still image portrays Bane as powerful as the shot is looking up at the Bane as how we look up to god.

50 Cent Reebok Poster Analysis

- The poster that i will be analysing is a Reebok poster which came out in 2005 featuring 50 Cent a well know hip hop rap superstar. The most notable thing about the poster is the colour which consist of black and white. Black is shown on the left side of the poster with 50 cent and this could suggest that 50 cent has a dark and dangerous history but still made something out of his situation by becoming a rap star. The black also connotes power and authority which suggest that 50 cent is looked up to and admired by many. Reebok wants to be associated with that images as it wants people think that if they pick reebok they could make something out there life and have some authority no matter there past. This put is further proven because 50 Cent got shot 9 times but still managed to come over that adversity and be successful. On the right side of the poster the colour is grey/white and we can see finger prints. This also connotes that 50 Cent has a criminal record which Reebok intentionally did to appeal to young people who listen 50 Cent or rap as they would view it as cool so they would want to be associated with the Reebok brand.

- 50 Cent quote on the left says "Where I am from, there is no plan B. so, take advantage of today because tomorrow is not promised" and "I am what I am". This quote further reinforces that he grow up in a bad/dark place but he's telling people to take advantage because no one knows what the outcome is tomorrow.

- The image and stance of 50 Cent in the poster is very interesting as Reebok have chosen it to effect the audience. The image of 50 Cent is a close up on his face, this enables the audience to see his facial expressions. 50 Cent facial expression is a straight serious face suggesting that becoming successful is not all fun and games but takes hard work and sacrifice. 50 Cents stance is a defence stance making the audience infer that he has something to hide and keep as a secret.

Low key lighting has been used in this advert as it gives it a darken atmosphere as its almost like crime experience advert.

Dominant reading- The obvious reading for this print advert is that this product is aimed at teenagers that listen to 50 cent and like 50 cent.

- Negotiated reading-  certain mass amount off people may think that it aimed at criminals who have been in a 50 cent sort situation e.g. been in gangs or in gangs.

- Oppositional reading- This could be that Reebok is a brand that is only aimed at criminals and the people who harm the society.

Self evaluation

- During my preliminary exercise i worked with Khaleed and Arvinder where there were highs and lows before and during the preliminary exercise. In my preliminary i had to incorporate into the video many things such as match on match action, 180 degree rule, shot reverse shot and the video could only be between 45 seconds to 1 minute long.

- Overall Due to the circumstance my group was in overall we were pleased with the video that we produced with limited time. One of the vital things that was key to use getting the correct timing and shots was the tracker as it gave us a guideline to follow on who was doing what in what scene and how long the scene would be. One of the positive things my group did was making sure that we implicated and maintained the match on match action, reverse shot reverse and 180 degree throughout the production. furthermore we did the establishing very well which was key as it enabled the audience to see the environment and also indicates who's the main character. Another  thing we did well was that we tried to keep the production as simple as possible as it was the first time working on a production and we believe that the simple dialogue would effect the audience as it create an enigma code as they would be wondering whats going to happen next, as the charters are not giving anything away.During the exchange of dialogue we used reverse shot reverse to she who the character was talking to and also 180 degree so it made sense to the audience. moreover we also did the match on match action to perfection as it flowed from the character moving his hands towards the door handle and the next show was the door opening and the character walking through. finally the camera angles we used essential for example when "Alieu" opens the door looking for khaleed there was a low angle shot making he's look more powerful and angry.

- Although there were positives there were also negative to our production and things we could of done better as shown in the following:firstly, as we were limited on time we had to film where ever we could and the only place available was a class which a teacher was using. This made the audience wonder why there was a teacher in the background and during the product as it was in school we could hear students making noise and walking by our camera. Lesson learnt for next time is to make sure we organise our product making sure we know what to do and when to do it. secondly, the class room environment didn't match the production we wanted to do so it made our production less impacting towards the audience. Furthermore, there were many editing falls for example the camera most of the production was out of focus meaning we couldn't see clearly characters faces and facial expressions. We also didn't do the editing to a good enough standard resulting in the audience hearing some dialogue repeated which throw of the audience.

- One of the key things we learnt throughout the production is that we need to be organised as a group and be full committed otherwise it would be near impossible to get a good grade. Another thing that we learnt is that we have to take each others ideas into consideration and be patient with each other as we are all rookies when it comes to filming.

Print Advert Analysis -D Rose #TheReturn

The main colour of the adidas print advert is grey/black and white symbolising that theres no easy way to succeed and sometimes you have to do what you don't like to succeed for example training hard. Adidas used black as it shows power and authority which is shown in he's still of play and when Derrick Rose is on the court he's the leader for his team. The dull back ground helps the red lettering stand out and be more noticeable . The words "belief, hope, focus, push, drive" also symbolise what he believes in order to become successful. The red colour lettering connotes passion as Derrick Rose shows passion when he's on the court playing like its he's last game. The size of the letters are massively important as there is no adidas logo as they want to be associated with what Derrick Rose believes.

The imagines on the left contains Derrick Rose in a close up press up stand. The close on his faces shows the sweat, determination and pain he's battling through to be successful. The sweat dripping down him connotes that being successful is not all glitz and glamor but also involves hard work. Also the close up has an effect as the audience feel as if Derrick Rose is directly looking at them and the audience can see determination and dedication in he's eyes.At the bottom left of the print advert Adidas want people to get behind there organisation and Derrick Rose by social media by having "#thereturn" in black and red.
